Manager, Monographic Acquisitions

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, evaluate, and set goals for unit staff
• Establish and maintain quality workflows for acquisitions and cataloging
• Assess ordering activity and develop best practices for procurement
• Serve as a contact for approval plan vendors and coordinate with selectors
• Participate in projects with technical services components as assigned
• May assist in disaster recovery efforts

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited library school or related graduate degree
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in library acquisitions or related areas
• Demonstrated knowledge of acquisitions practices and models
• Experience supervising or directing staff in high-performance teams
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, especially for non-specialist audiences
