Responsibilities
- Hire, train, evaluate, and set goals for unit staff
- Establish and maintain quality workflows for acquisitions and cataloging
- Assess ordering activity and develop best practices for procurement
- Serve as a contact for approval plan vendors and coordinate with selectors
- Participate in projects with technical services components as assigned
- May assist in disaster recovery efforts
Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited library school or related graduate degree
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in library acquisitions or related areas
- Demonstrated knowledge of acquisitions practices and models
- Experience supervising or directing staff in high-performance teams
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, especially for non-specialist audiences
