Manager, Merchandise

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a large team of Sales Ambassadors within Retail and Photo business units.
• Ensure Ambassadors are engaging guests and making a positive impact on service scores (GSAT).
• Foster a team environment and develop future leaders by sharing knowledge and being an example.
• Manage financial responsibilities over assigned locations, including revenue, labor management, and expense controls.
• Assist with creating and activating incremental revenue opportunities.
• Oversee and participate in park cycle counts and annual physical inventory.
• Coach and course-correct negative Ambassador behaviors, as needed.
• Turn a negative guest experience into a positive one, as needed.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors, and Guests.
• Work with third-party Revenue Partners to drive revenue.
• Oversee and participate in store changeouts and in-park event setups.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred, or relatable experience.
• Three (3) years of management and/or supervisory experience, preferably in a theme park or high-volume retail setting.
• Proficient in Microsoft software products.
• Demonstrated initiative, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Confident and outgoing presence with the ability to professionally interact with various levels of ambassadors and leadership.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects, strict deadlines, and a detail-oriented style.
• Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
• Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout the entire work shift and climbing/ascending heights.
• Perform physical activities such as kneeling, squatting, bending floor-to-waist/waist-to-overhead, reaching overhead, simple grasp, and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing).
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather, including extreme heat.
• Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors, and cold/heat temperature extremes.
• Perform cleaning duties, including the use of cleaning chemicals.
• Available to work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays.
