About the role

The Manager, Meetings and Events will deliver best-in-class event experiences for the firm’s associates, clients, and prospects. They will have a natural curiosity for business strategy and demonstrate their skills to create and flawlessly complete programmatic experiences that support the objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver best-in-class event experiences for the firm’s associates, clients, and prospects.
  • Create and manage budgets, timelines, and work plans for event projects.
  • Lead planning meetings and collaborate with business partners to drive toward deliverables.
  • Communicate effectively with partners and keep them informed throughout the process.
  • Sourcing and managing speakers and vendors, and creating dynamic production schedules for both in-person and virtual events.
  • Consult with senior management and colleagues regarding event strategy, objectives, and program goals; make recommendations to achieve maximum impact for minimal spend.
  • Collaborate with the marketing, communications, and product groups to ensure appropriateness of branding, including presentation content.
  • Design engaging, relevant event experiences that resonate with attending audiences and achieve key business objectives for internal and external audiences.
  • Develop success measures and evaluate all major events against objectives, recommending areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or at least 5 years of related work experience.
  • Experience planning social and corporate events as well as an understanding of industry events.
  • Experience with event registration systems and event mobile app platforms, especially Cvent.
  • Knowledge and experience with virtual event production.
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word) and Zoom Meeting/Webinar.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including a command of proofreading.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Ability to travel within the U.S. and work flexible and/or fluctuating work hours.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing small to mid-size budgets, possess fundamental knowledge of contractual language pertaining to meetings and events, and have experience negotiating with vendors.
  • Collaborate with team members and business partners, have a proven ability to work well independently and as part of a team, and embrace and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of successful approaches, tools, and techniques for dealing with changes and adapting to a changing environment and have the ability to adapt as needed.

Skills

  • Expertise in project management, including creating and managing budgets, timelines, and work plans.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with partners and keep them informed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Experience with event registration systems and event mobile app platforms, especially Cvent.
  • Knowledge and experience with virtual event production.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $74,000-141,000 USD per year. Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors. Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.

Schedule

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model: Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
