About the Role

As our Manager, Maternal Program, you will hold strategic and operational responsibility for the Maternal Program, promoting optimal care for pregnant and immediately postpartum patients through clinical activities, education, injury prevention, quality improvement, and patient safety. You will act as a key resource for all patient care areas regarding nursing care for pregnant and immediately postpartum patients, fostering effective communication with all concerned parties. In conjunction with the Maternal Medical Director, you will oversee the overall management of the Maternal Program and actively participate in the development of a regionalized maternal care system.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and facilitates the review of maternal patients to identify high-risk admissions, deaths, and transfers.
  • Coordinates and facilitates the Maternal Morbidity & Mortality (M&M) quality review.
  • Coordinates necessary education to improve maternal care.
  • Reviews maternal patient care for all patients meeting quality indicators.
  • Ensures the standard quality of care is being delivered for all maternity patients and completes quality reviews in a timely manner.
  • Oversees the performance improvement and patient safety plan.
  • Reviews high-risk patient accounts for appropriate charge entry and coordinates billing review to assure appropriate account usage.
  • Participates in professional state organizations as required for maternal designation.
  • Maintains certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and current AWHONN Fetal Heart Monitor training.
  • Maintains the maternal care orientation/education program for the entire facility.
  • Ensures the facility meets all designation requirements, including standards of care, quality reviews, and community education.
  • Ensures accurate data accumulation for administrative reporting.
  • Assures privacy of all patient information to protect patient rights and meet HIPAA guidelines; reports suspected violations immediately.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience (4-6 years if holding a Bachelor’s degree).
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in the discipline.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas, upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 14 days of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire.

Pay

$49.78 - $74.05 per hour.
