About the role

The role of Manufacturing Quality Manager at PMI involves leading, motivating, and coaching the manufacturing quality team to continuously support production by providing on-floor quality support to ensure optimal and cost-effective quality assurance. This includes contributing to the achievement of product quality and production volume targets up to the release of finished goods to the market.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Compliance and Safety: Guarantee adherence to PMI and legal standards, policies, and environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability guidelines. Foster a proactive, safety-first culture using preventive and predictive approaches in line with our Integrated Operating System.
  • Provide Full Support in Case of Non-Conformities: Both for product and process. Provide guidance and coordinate Quality team members during investigations, risk assessments, and root cause analyses, leveraging Integrated Operating System problem-solving tools.
  • Manage Non-Conformities: Ensure timely investigation and blocking of product and material non-conformities. Implement NC-CAPA processes to identify and prioritize quality improvement opportunities.
  • Support Quality Management System (QMS): Participate in the creation and review of procedures, work instructions, and other Quality Documents. Provide support and training in accordance with the training management system.
  • Continuous Improvement: Provide timely feedback and recommendations for corrective actions. Propose, define, and implement quality improvement programs to ensure products and processes meet Quality requirements.
  • Control Quality Losses: Regularly monitor Quality Loss on Good Destroyed (LOGD) costs for semi-finished goods, finished goods, and incoming materials. Resolve critical consumer complaints with a focus on consumer satisfaction and assess impact or correction of Swedish Match North America processes.
  • Develop & Motivate Your Team: Manage and develop a motivated and skilled team. Create an environment where each member of the team is encouraged to express their talents and potential. Develop and drive the execution of a Qualification matrix and training path for each role. Facilitate successful team behavior within Quality Systems and across functional areas.

Requirements

  • College/University Master’s degree in chemistry, biological sciences, Physical sciences, Engineering or equivalent skills through demonstrated experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in quality engineering in tobacco, food, pharmaceutical or similar FMCG industry.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process and applicable QMS.
  • Knowledge on Quality tools, root cause analysis, analytical skills, and strong ability to transform statistical data into information and influence others.
  • Capability to learn fast and teach skills.
  • Knowledge of International standards (ISO, GMP, GCP, ICH, GLP, etc).
  • IT skills (MS Office).
  • Experience on FDA inspection would be considered as an additional asset.

  • Annual Base Salary: $132,000 - $165,000
