About the role
This role is part of Alcon's Engineering function, a team focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Establish and enforce project governance, stage-gate processes, and project management standards.
- Manage a portfolio of manufacturing engineering projects (capex, automation, tooling, NPI, continuous improvement) directly and through direct reports.
- Partner with engineering, operations, supply chain, quality, and finance to prioritize and execute projects.
- Oversee project planning, resourcing, budgeting, risk management, and reporting.
- Implement and maintain project management tools, dashboards, and KPI tracking (schedule, cost, scope, ROI).
- Coach and develop project managers and cross-functional teams.
- Identify third-party contractors, manage their contracts, and ensure partnerships are right-sized.
- Lead portfolio reviews and executive reporting with clear visibility to risks and milestones.
- Drive continuous improvement in PMO processes and project delivery performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+1 yr)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
- Five (5) years of relevant experience
- Three (3) years of demonstrated leadership
