About the Role

The Manager, Manufacturing Process Engineering leads the design, development, deployment, and optimization of manufacturing processes to achieve quality, cost, and delivery goals for Celestica and its customers. This role involves managing technical aspects of customer-specific process development projects, supporting the full product lifecycle, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the customer’s technical roadmap and identify/manage new customer-specific process development projects.
  • Develop the scope of technical work, coordinate teams, and direct assignments to resolve manufacturing issues throughout the product lifecycle—from conception to obsolescence.
  • Evaluate potential manufacturing impacts for each design concept.
  • Develop best-practice standards, participate in industry organizations, and provide global training and application support.
  • Set yearly departmental plans and goals, provide performance evaluations, and ensure alignment with key performance indicators.
  • Design and deploy continuous improvement (CI) strategies using lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to enhance value flow for internal and external customers.
  • Coordinate and oversee CI activities, mentor teams, and foster a culture of continuous improvement across business units.
  • Work closely with leadership to align CI efforts with organizational goals.

Requirements

  • 7 to 10 years of related experience, including roles with similar responsibilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience; educational requirements may vary by geography.

Skills

  • Project Management: Ability to lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects, including financial and resource planning, risk mitigation, and delivery within budget and timeline.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated alignment with Celestica’s Leadership Imperatives, including people and team leadership behaviors.
  • Financial Acumen: Ability to create financial plans, profitability analyses, and risk assessments for projects, with knowledge of internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proven experience identifying and implementing process improvements that drive operational efficiencies.
  • Additional competencies may include: Coaching/Mentoring, Communication/Negotiation/Presentation, Creative Problem Solving, Customer/Stakeholder Management, Quality & Lean, D/PFMEA, 8D/Corrective Action, Equipment Safety, and Design of Experiments (DOE).

Physical Demands

  • Primarily office-based with extended periods of sitting and computer use (e.g., data entry, mouse usage).
  • Occasional travel may be required.
