What You'll Do
As the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering, you'll lead manufacturing engineering initiatives that improve productivity, quality, safety, and delivery performance across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Manufacturing Engineers and technical staff
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes that improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize throughput
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and production readiness activities
- Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Program Management teams
- Analyze production data and implement corrective actions to improve KPIs
- Oversee process documentation, work instructions, routings, and manufacturing standards
- Lead capital equipment and automation projects from concept through implementation
- Ensure compliance with aerospace quality requirements and regulatory standards
- Support root cause investigations and corrective action activities
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational improvements
- Champion a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience within aerospace, precision machining, or advanced manufacturing
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams
- Strong understanding of CNC machining, aerospace manufacturing processes, tooling, and process development
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Adequate understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and aerospace specifications
- Experience supporting AS9100 quality systems
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Aerospace OEM or Tier 1 supplier experience
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
- Experience with automation and advanced manufacturing technologies
- ERP/MRP system experience
- New product introduction (NPI) leadership experience
- Capital equipment implementation experience
