About the role
This facility is part of our Prepared Foods business unit and manufactures bacon. The Maintenance Manager II is responsible for supervising and planning the execution of cost-effective and timely maintenance necessary for the operation of all equipment processes required by the Processing Maintenance and Refrigeration departments.
Responsibilities
- Directing, coordinating, and supporting maintenance supervisors and personnel.
- Working with contractors, vendors, or company engineering in the modification or installation of equipment troubleshooting.
- Resolving new and/or different technical problems regarding equipment processes.
- Efficiently managing and maintaining highly automated systems including PLCs, HMIs, and Robotics.
- Coordinating and maintaining the maintenance training program for maintenance Team Members.
- Assisting in preparing and overseeing budgets.
- Coordinating Team Member work schedules and ensuring all parts and assets necessary to perform maintenance are available and maintained.
- Oversight of capital budgeting, planning, and project execution.
- Management responsibility over environmental and utility management programs.
- Collaborating with managers of plant teams including but not limited to safety, food safety, and retention.
- Providing information for managerial decision-making and performing other responsibilities as the need arises.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of maintenance supervisor experience or project management required.
- Standard computer skills.
- Good communication skills; ability to direct the workforce with clear and precise directions.
- Considerable knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, refrigeration, automation, and maintenance training skills preferred.
- Display sound judgment; make sound decisions; organizational skills; ability to accept and delegate responsibility.
- Responsible for supervising a group of maintenance supervisors and personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities.
- Travel: 1-5 trips per year.
