Description Summary:
Provide leadership, training, and direct supervision to the maintenance department personnel.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a high awareness of quality, safety, and teamwork within the team.
- Cook up daily maintenance activities.
- Plan scheduled maintenance and p.m. tasks.
- Develop and maintain a CMA's mechanical integrity plan.
- Develop and maintain a capital project plan.
- Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance program.
- Plan and coordinate maintenance activities for all scheduled and unscheduled shutdowns.
- Issue instructions, delegate assignments, and ensure proper completion of daily tasks.
- Inspect the process line for possible problems or items in need of attention.
- Responsible for issuing incident reports for process, safety or other problems.
- Prepare and initiate training requirements for the team including safety classes, procedure updates, and recertification of necessary job tasks.
- Audit work instructions and initiate changes when necessary.
- Maintain and update personnel files and data.
- This includes updating and tracking timecards, scheduling vacation and holiday leave, informing technicians of policy and procedure changes, and maintaining files for review purposes.
- Communicate with members and handle any personal or team issues, problems, or questions that may be present.
- Develop timesaving methods and ideas for process improvements including the design or design modifications of mechanical and/or electrical systems.
- Ensure maintenance spare parts inventory is adequate and maintained.
Skills And Specifications
- A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
- Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature.
- Work may involve motivating or influencing others.
- Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
- Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel;
- A mechanical aptitude;
- Problem solving and interpersonal skills;
- Exposure to computerized maintenance management software.
Education And Qualifications
- Eight to ten years similar or related experience.
- A college degree in a technical discipline or a master’s degree (non-technical) or non-technical degree plus professional certification.
- This position involves working with technologies and information which are subject to U.S. export control regulations.
- Toray CMA must review certain candidate information including citizenship, basis of United States work authorization and country of origin.
- The position involves working with technologies and information which are subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

- The ability to hear, speak, use hands/fingers and the repetitive motions of hands/wrists are occasional.

- Vision abilities require the adjustment and focus of sight.
- The ability to be physically mobile.
- The ability to wear a respirator when performing inspections and/or investigations.
