Responsibilities
- Developing, scheduling, and executing preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Maintaining, repairing, and inspecting buildings, machinery, and electrical/hydraulic systems.
- Hiring, training, supervising, and motivating maintenance personnel, including technicians and janitorial staff.
- Developing, tracking, and adhering to maintenance budgets, including managing vendor contracts and ordering spare parts.
- Ensuring all operations comply with state, federal, and company health and safety regulations, such as OSHA.
- Documenting maintenance logs, tracking performance metrics (e.g., KPIs), and creating reports to improve efficiency.
- Remaining on-call to address urgent, high-priority maintenance emergencies.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED, with a technical or trade school preferred.
- 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, including 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role.
- Knowledge of PLC programming and Ladder Logic is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems); ideal systems experience with Asset Essentials or Aetos.
- Strong troubleshooting skills (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic).
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Analytical skills to troubleshoot problems and optimize processes.
- Technical proficiency in machinery and facility systems.
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
- Excellent communication and vendor negotiation skills.
- Experience in metals service centers or manufacturing preferred.
