Manager - Local Operations

About the Role

The Manager of Local Operations manages vital team members who represent Uniti's leading telecommunications brand, connecting homeowners, small businesses, enterprises, and carrier partners across the United States. This role focuses on technology and customer connections to build long-term relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage technicians in residential and business installation, repair, central office, and network areas.
• Review technicians' work quarterly to ensure quality and adherence to procedures; initiate disciplinary actions as needed.
• Maintain personnel records for annual appraisals.
• Oversee installation, repair, and central office maintenance functions.
• Analyze trouble patterns and repeat reports to reduce issues.
• Monitor central office routines and progress of central office (CO) and Outside Plant (OSP) jobs; inspect completed work.
• Monitor facility change orders (FCOs), schedule and coordinate job cut-overs, and handle after-hours problems.
• Cover for other supervisory areas as needed.
• Utilize ETA systems to monitor tasks, adjust plans with planners, prepare monthly work schedules, and track employee performance.
• Provide and record safety training, ensure compliance with safety rules, maintain OSHA records, and investigate accidents.
• Maintain proper files and documentation for DOT drivers, including monthly summaries and daily inspections.
• Monitor controllable expenses and control inventory levels in the office and on technicians' vehicles.
• Inspect and maintain buildings, grounds, and vehicles.
• Prepare budget inputs for tools, test sets, and plant replacements or relief.
• Work with city officials, county officials, and local customers to maintain a positive image of Uniti.

• 2-3 years of supervisory experience.
• 9 years of related technical and/or telephone experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: College degree and 5-7 years of professional-level experience with 2-3 years of supervisory experience; or 9+ years of related technical and/or telephony experience; or an equivalent combination of education and technical-level related experience.

Preferred: Previous experience as a technician.
