Primary Responsibilities and/or Essential functions
- Recruiting
- Conduct market research to identify and evaluate lateral talent opportunities across practice areas and geographies
- Perform initial analysis on partner candidates to assess strategic fit and client synergies
- Develop candidate briefing materials
- Draft partner communications and other supporting materials
- Liaise with partner candidates, search firms, and internal stakeholders to manage active recruitments
- Stay current on market trends and competitive intelligence
- Maintain pipeline tracking and reporting
- Support special projects related to lateral growth initiatives
- Develop and maintain recruiting-focused collateral in collaboration with the Business Development team
- Onboarding & Integration
- Develop and execute structured integration programs for lateral partner hires in collaboration with partners and relevant firm departments
- Ensure alignment with the firm’s strategic priorities and culture
- Contribute to smooth partner onboarding across administrative, operational, and practice-related workstreams
- Provide ongoing support to lateral hires to facilitate relationship-building and long-term success at the firm
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- 8+ years of experience in lateral partner recruiting, strategic business development, practice management and/or competitive intelligence, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment
- Strong understanding of the legal industry, including law firm practice areas and market dynamics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels, including firm leadership
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to shifting demands
- Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of professionalism
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment
Education/Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
Estimated salary range
$170,000 - $200,000. This position is bonus eligible.
