About the role
The Manager, Laboratory Services oversees daily operations and strategic development of the clinical laboratory, ensuring accurate, timely, and high-quality diagnostic testing. Key responsibilities include managing and mentoring staff, monitoring test quality, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with pathologists and clinical teams to optimize workflows and integrate new technologies.
Responsibilities
- Manages and mentors staff, monitors employee and departmental performance to ensure adherence to policies and procedures, timelines, and regulatory requirements
- Remains knowledgeable on new technologies, methods, and approaches within the laboratory community
- Stays informed on and quickly ensures compliance with changes to regulatory and state requirements
- Ensures ongoing compliance with federal and state regulations
- Develops, implements, and complies with policy and procedures
- Develops monitoring systems to improve quality; initiates corrective action plans, and monitors results
- Evaluates existing systems and processes and develops corrective action plans for service/quality trends identified
- Ensures prompt and effective resolution of quality or service concerns
- Oversight of equipment, including maintenance and procurement in accordance with division, system, and regulatory standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in biological or chemical sciences, as defined by CLIA, or related field, upon hire
- International Medical Laboratory Scientist, upon hire
- Blood Banking, upon hire
- Chemistry - ASCP, upon hire
- Clinical Laboratory Scientist, upon hire
- Clinical Laboratory Technologist, upon hire
- Technologist in Molecular Biology, upon hire
- Medical Laboratory Scientist - Med Technologist, upon hire
- Medical Technologist AAB, upon hire
- Technologist in Microbiology, upon hire
- Histotechnologist, upon hire
Preferred
- Masters of Science, with one year of experience as a Manager, upon hire
