Manager Laboratory DT

About the role

The Manager Lab Services oversees the technical operations and quality assurance of various laboratory sections, including Hematology, Coagulation, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Immunology, General Lab Microbiology, Special Chemistry, and Transfusion Services. This position requires direct supervision of staff and coordination of workflow.

Responsibilities

• Develops policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
• Oversees daily technical operations and quality assurance of the technical areas.
• Schedules staff and assigns duties.
• Maintains staff competency through assessments and performance evaluations.
• Manages inventory and ensures adequate supplies are stocked.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and conducts inspections.
• Facilitates communication and collaboration among departments.
• Communicates effectively with staff and partners with other managers to enhance satisfaction and improve processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Laboratory Science or related field.
• State of Florida Clinical Laboratory Supervisor License in all areas of the Laboratory.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Medical Technologist or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year’s supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Intermediate computer skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
