Responsibilities
- Overtake daily laboratory operations, staffing priorities, and resource allocation.
- Lead, coach, and support team members through regular communication, feedback, and professional development.
- Promote a culture of quality, safety, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain compliance and inspection readiness in accordance with CAP, CLIA, and other applicable standards.
- Review operational, quality, productivity, and financial data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain laboratory policies, procedures, training programs, and department goals.
- Partner with physicians, nursing teams, hospital leaders, and external stakeholders as a laboratory subject matter expert.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, engagement, and retention efforts.
- Lead department initiatives and help the team successfully navigate operational and organizational changes.
- Provide hands-on support with specimen collection, processing, or testing when needed.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Clinical laboratory experience.
- Licenses/Certifications: Certified Phlebotomy Technician OR Medical Laboratory Scientist OR Medical Laboratory Technician.
