Manager, Laboratory

Job Summary

Responsible for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of testing. Follows standard operating procedures and ensures laboratory safety, quality and regulatory requirements are met. Provides leadership during the day-to-day operations of the laboratory or laboratory department. Acts as a point of contact to technical staff, responds to questions and provides direction. Provides administrative leadership and expertise to the laboratory department. May collect laboratory specimens. May process lab specimens and perform clinical laboratory testing, including manual and automated methods, in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Laboratory or Biological Sciences required.
• Five years laboratory related experience required.
• Must have at least two years of leadership/management experience.
• Possess a national laboratory certification or laboratory specialty certification through an approved Health and Human Services (HHS) agency, for example American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP); or be registry eligible.
• If working in North Dakota (ND), must be licensed by the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice.
