Manager Instructional Design

This role requires 5+ years of experience in healthcare, education technology, curriculum development, and learning management, with 2+ years of significant IT implementation and support experience. Candidates with 8+ years of experience in these fields, along with 4+ years of significant IT experience, are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team, including leading cross-functional teams and large-scale learning projects
- Translate complex technical or clinical content into effective learning experiences tailored to adult learners
- Work with stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration in solving problems
- Implement best practice standards and optimize processes and systems within and across teams to drive improvement and quality
- Drive change within the team and across teams
- Analyze problems, issues, and opportunities systematically and logically to make decisions that support the goals of the department or organization
- Provide the highest level of service to patients, visitors, and colleagues across the organization
- Maintain and demonstrate the appropriate technical and knowledge required by the position
- Responsible for day-to-day interaction with vendors, participating in activities such as researching and selecting vendors, obtaining quotes, and negotiating contracts
Requirements
Education: Required - Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or Healthcare related field. Preferred - Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Public Health (MPH), or equivalent.
Certifications/Licensure: None required. Preferred - At least one year of direct experience training Epic applications in a classroom setting.
Qualifications
- Experience managing a team, including leading cross-functional teams and large-scale learning projects
- Strong understanding of adult learning theory, instructional design, and training practices
- Deep knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Working knowledge of eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Camtasia)
- Experience implementing and/or supporting applicable enterprise clinical systems, e.g. Epic
- Demonstrated ability to evolve the training function beyond application training to support broader digital capability development, including training for AI-enabled tools, analytics platforms, and emerging technologies
- Demonstrated experience building role-based training curricula for enterprise technology implementations, including learning paths, course outlines, job aids, and certification or competency assessments
- Strong project planning, prioritization, and resource allocation skills
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent learning initiatives
- Engage with stakeholders (users, subject matter experts, and executive sponsors) to gather feedback and ensure curriculum relevance and impact
- Comfort evaluating and piloting new tools and platforms
- Experience collecting and analyzing training metrics (e.g., course completion rates, learner feedback, adoption metrics)
- Experience leading, managing, and mentoring instructional designers, including establishing content development standards, review processes, and instructional design best practices

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
Pay
The base pay scale for this position is $125,000.00 - $191,000.00.
Schedule
The schedule for this position is Regular Full time.
