About the role

Madewell is seeking a bold, relationship-first storyteller to lead its influencer strategy and help shape the brand's community. This role involves building and scaling influencer programs, from developing strategies to executing campaigns, and managing relationships with creators.

Responsibilities

  • Support in the development and execution of a multi-dimensional community strategy that builds brand awareness and unlocks scale across tiers, platforms, and campaign types.
  • Partner cross-functionally with marketing and creative teams to translate product and brand priorities into compelling strategies; find ways to integrate and amplify content across owned channels.
  • Contribute to community-related special projects and experiential activations (e.g., pop-ups, events) as an extension of strategy.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, platform shifts, and emerging creator formats, bringing fresh ideas that keep Madewell at the forefront of culture.
  • Concept, negotiate, and manage multiple paid influencer partnerships end-to-end — from briefing and contracting through content delivery and usage rights — with a focus on top-of-funnel awareness and engagement.
  • Own and maintain influencer relationships across all campaigns and tiers, ensuring every partner feels like a true collaborator.
  • Build creator seeding lists and mailers tied to key product moments, collaborations, and launches.
  • Lead organic gifting/seeding efforts across outreach, coordination, product trafficking, and content management.
  • Brief and manage creative deliverables in partnership with the creative team, ensuring every piece of content is on-brand and on-strategy.
  • Generate comprehensive performance reporting to inform and optimize future partnerships, partnering with performance marketing to set goals tied to business growth.
  • Support with the management of influencer budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to maximize ROI.
  • Ensure all partnerships comply with relevant legal and regulatory guidelines (e.g., FTC disclosure requirements).
  • Mentor and guide junior team members and interns, helping build a strong bench for the broader team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of influencer marketing experience, ideally within beauty or fashion, including experience with large-scale, complex seeding initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success negotiating contracts, usage rights, and compensation terms with talent, agents, and agencies.
  • Deep fluency in social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Substack and other emerging channels), content trends, and what makes creator content perform.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a track record of building lasting relationships with influencers and external partners.
  • Strategic, creative thinker who can move fluidly between big-picture vision and hands-on execution.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate campaign data into actionable insight.
  • Highly organized project manager, comfortable juggling multiple priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with influencer marketing and analytics tools (e.g., CreatorIQ, Dash Hudson, influencer databases) strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of FTC disclosure requirements and other influencer marketing regulations.
