Manager, Infection Prevention
Job Description
Counsels and mentors infection preventionists and interdisciplinary teams across the care continuum.
Develops, implements, and evaluates infection prevention programs, aligning goals with organizational priorities and emerging infectious threats.
Provides direct supervision and development of infection preventionists at the facility level.
Designs and delivers innovative IPC education tailored to diverse audiences and learning styles.
Leads development and implementation of process assessments, action plans, and diagnostic stewardship systems to mitigate infection risks.
Oversees compliance with infection control protocols, cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization standards, ensuring regulatory and accreditation alignment.
Collaborates on antimicrobial and diagnostic stewardship initiatives using surveillance data, antibiograms, and usage metrics.
Maintains surveillance technology and reporting systems to support strategic planning and accurate data collection.
Serves as an IPC subject matter expert on performance improvement teams using quality improvement methodologies and standard indicators.
Advocates for safe practices, ethical standards, and accountability in alignment with APIC’s Professional Practice Standards.

Education
- Bachelor's in health science, healthcare delivery, public health, laboratory science, or related field [Required]
- Master's [Preferred]
Work Experience
- 3+ experience in clinical setting, infection control or public health [Required]
- 3+ experience in infection control practice is essential. Experience in hospital infection prevention with a minimum of three (3) years experience in acute/critical care and/or other infection prevention/epidemiology field. [Required]
- 3+ working knowledge of general hospital operations, osha, tjc and other state and federal regulatory requirements. [Required]
Licenses And Certifications

Pay Range
$69,648.41 - $129,533.19
