Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector is seeking a Manager of Industrial Engineering 2 to join our team for the STRIKE, F-35, and Launch Programs in Iuka, Mississippi. This role leads an industrial engineering team focused on developing and sustaining IEOM principles on established and developmental work. The manager will sit on the site leadership team and guide the implementation of new production performance measurement tools, metrics, and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead industrial engineers and possibly project managers.
  • Provide technical and leadership support to the Industrial Engineering team on a production line or development program.
  • Drive strategic initiatives and tactical actions to improve program cost and schedule performance, ensuring milestones and goals are achieved.
  • Deliver on short-term, high-visibility program requests while creating and executing a long-term strategy to influence change.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop a team of industrial engineers through meaningful tasks, feedback, and performance rewards.
  • Build trust within the organization and align the team toward impactful goals.
  • Administer performance reviews, merit increases, promotions, skills inventory, and personal resources for Industrial Engineering employees.
  • Work alongside Operations and IPT leadership to develop tools (e.g., schedules, SOPs, bar charts, performance dashboards) to achieve business targets.
  • Source key IEOM talent to support Business Unit goals.
  • Collaborate with functional homerooms and shared service organizations to improve people, products, processes, systems, and services.
  • Oversee projects and tasks assigned to cross-functional organizations to ensure quality, schedule, and cost targets are met.
  • Provide direct supervision and management of employees across technical, manufacturing, and administrative areas.
  • Create long-range planning and strategies for the operations team, including staffing forecasts, recovery plans, line balancing assessments, and EAC/budget forecasting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field and 7 years of professional experience in industrial engineering, operations/management, engineering, or a relevant aerospace, aviation, automotive, military, or manufacturing environment, or a Master’s Degree in a STEM field and 5 years of such experience.
  • 2 years of leadership or management experience.
  • Active US Government Secret Clearance and ability to obtain Special Program Access as determined by business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Earned Value Management (EVM) and/or Estimate at Complete (EAC) experience.
  • Experience with Shop Floor Control (SFC) systems for manufacturing product lifecycles.
  • Understanding of advanced business systems applications in industrial engineering, including MES, SAP, Tableau, Power BI, Power Query, and MS Project.
  • Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment, with at least 1 year in Shop Floor Operations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and building diverse teams in fast-paced, quality-centric environments.

Pay

Primary salary range: $109,000.00 – $163,400.00. The final offer considers scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Additional compensation may include overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses.

Schedule

4/10 work schedule with every Friday off.
