Manager Industrial Engineering
About the role
The Industrial Engineering & Focus Improvement Manager leads plant-wide industrial engineering and focused improvement efforts to optimize productivity, capacity, and operational efficiency. This role oversees the Industrial Engineering team and drives the use of plant capacity and capability management tools (PCCMT) to identify gaps and improve performance.
Responsibilities
Lead and develop Industrial Engineering team members to identify constraints, reduce losses, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Analyze plant staffing and optimize labor utilization across business centers through efficiency studies and workforce planning.
Establish and maintain engineered standards, time studies, routings, and work center assignments.
Support capital projects with data-driven analysis and coordinate layout changes for operational effectiveness.
Partner with plant leadership to provide insights, recommendations, and performance improvement strategies.
Collaborate with regional teams to support data requests, scenario planning, and enterprise initiatives.
Requirements
10+ years of experience in leading and implementing lean manufacturing and/or continuous improvement programs
5+ years of management experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience in a Union environment
Experience in a Continuous Improvement / Zero Loss Concept / Total Productive Maintenance / Lean environment
Formal training and experience with Production System
Demonstrated experience in developing standards and time studies
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
Professional Certifications: Certified Production Engineer (CPE), Six Sigma Green Belt, or equivalent certifications
Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to lead cross-functional teams
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools
Experience with PCCMT tools
