Manager, Indirect & Capex Strategic Sourcing
About the role
Lead procurement of non-manufacturing goods and services supporting site operations in Bridgewater, New Jersey. This role oversees high-value categories including Capex, Engineering, EHS, Utilities, MRO, Clinical, and Facility Management to ensure business continuity, regulatory compliance (cGMP/FDA), and optimal total cost of ownership (TCO). The position serves as a key business partner to site leadership (Engineering, Maintenance, Site Head) and acts as the primary liaison with Global Procurement.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with site and global priorities.
- Lead RFx processes (RFP/RFQ), supplier evaluations, and award decisions.
- Optimize TCO by evaluating lifecycle costs (maintenance, energy, spare parts).
- Contracting & Supplier Relationship Management
- Negotiate MSAs, SOWs, and project agreements for services and capital projects.
- Establish supplier KPIs, lead QBRs, and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Drive supplier performance, innovation, and strategic partnerships.
- Lead supplier relationship management (SRM) and governance initiatives.
- Site Operations & Compliance
- Ensure timely procurement of MRO and utility services to support uninterrupted operations.
- Maintain compliance with cGMP, FDA, and EHS standards.
- Support capital projects by sourcing equipment, construction, and validation services.
- Financial & Process Stewardship
- Deliver cost savings and cost avoidance against annual targets.
- Reduce maverick spend through preferred supplier programs and policy enforcement.
- Utilize procurement systems (SAP, Ariba, Coupa) for sourcing, spend tracking, and reporting.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Drive process improvements, automation, and adoption of best practices.
- Support sustainability and renewable energy initiatives.
- Leverage industry benchmarking and market insights to enhance category strategies.
- Digital, Data & Analytics
- Conduct spend analysis and apply data-driven decision-making.
- Support procurement digital transformation and analytics adoption.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Life Sciences.
- 5–10 years of indirect procurement experience across relevant categories.
- 4+ years managing supplier relationships and contract negotiations.
- Strong knowledge of SAP/Ariba, category management, and contract practices.
- Familiarity with emerging procurement technologies.

Pay
The anticipated annual base salary range for this position in New Jersey is $100,000 to $115,000, plus a discretionary performance bonus (based upon eligibility). The final salary offered to a successful candidate may vary and will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: the type and length of experience within the job, the type and length of experience within the industry, skillset, education, business needs, etc. Lupin is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
