About the role
The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear. They consult with the Store Manager to establish action plans for departmental and overall store responsibilities, including selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Affords knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments when necessary.
- Ensures inventory, sales statistics, and expenses are monitored to ensure profitability in all departments.
- Directs staff to complete departmental responsibilities and standards.
- Keeps the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
- Maintains quality customer service.
- Performs general administrative duties as needed and is trained in the Store Manager’s responsibilities.
- Produces and gives extraordinary customer service as outlined in the customer service manual.
- Promotes and sells services and merchandise provided by Hibbett I City Gear.
- Practices and upholds all Hibbett I City Gear policies, procedures, and standards as listed in the manuals and memos.
- Protects the company’s assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures and reporting any potential fraud risks to management.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
- One to three years of customer service experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to assist in managing a team and keeping up with overall goals and profits.
- A self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with precision.
- A team-player passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.
