Wayne-Sanderson Farms (WSF) offers a 12-month Manager in Training (MIT) Program designed to cultivate early talent into future leaders. This program develops critical leadership skills necessary to thrive in dynamic and challenging environments.

Requirements

  • College degree required (associate, bachelor’s, graduate) or completed by program start date
  • 0–5 years of experience
  • Must be able to relocate within the company’s geographic footprint

Responsibilities

  • Learn day-to-day operations under the supervision of functional managers or mentors through hands-on experience in assigned departments
  • Develop an understanding of departmental operations, processes, procedures, and performance standards
  • Apply learned skills in daily interactions with employees, vendors, and customers
  • Understand the requirements of internal and external customers, using feedback to improve products and services
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, including root cause analysis, and suggest or implement solutions
  • Partner with experienced leadership to direct day-to-day activities of frontline associates
  • Make principled decisions using the LEAP philosophy in interactions with peers, subordinates, and management
  • Align personal and subordinate goals with the company’s vision and objectives
  • Follow and enforce all safety initiatives to maintain a zero-accident culture
  • Perform additional relevant duties as assigned

Physical & Safety Requirements

  • Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
  • Wear required protective equipment in all mandatory areas
  • Travel throughout facilities, both indoors and outdoors
  • Work in wet, cold, hot, humid, and/or dusty environments
  • Occasionally lift up to 40 lbs
  • Work unusual shifts (holidays, weekends, extended hours) as needed to meet production requirements
