About the role
Provides overall technical direction and administration to imaging services personnel, ensuring the system of testing operates efficiently and effectively. Regularly reviews and revises imaging services standards to ensure diagnostic procedures comply with all hospital, system, and regulatory agency standards. Coordinates provision of imaging services with other medical functions and serves as a technical resource for departmental personnel.
Responsibilities
- Plans and administers, directly and through subordinate supervisory personnel, the effective management and delivery of diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with all hospital, system, and regulatory agency standards.
- Assists with ensuring quality, financial, and customer service objectives are met.
- Assists with developing and administering capital and operating budgets to meet agreed-upon departmental goals and objectives.
- Implements methods to monitor adherence to budgets and resolve variances.
- Serves as a technical resource to subordinates in resolving complex problems and investigating/recommending corrective actions in response to incident reports or patient complaints.
- Assists with recommendations for department equipment modifications, new supplies, and minor equipment purchases.
- Fosters smoothly running imaging services functions through timely and effective resolution of disruptions.
- Ensures the attainment of objectives through the selection, development, training, and evaluation of imaging services staff.
- Ensures all imaging services activities and operations comply with local, state, federal, and governmental regulations and laws.
- Performs other related duties as required and directed.
Requirements
- Five years of job-related experience.
- Registry in imaging discipline.
- Current BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Supervisory experience within the healthcare industry.
- Current knowledge of ACR accreditation requirements and audits.
- Certified Radiology Administrator.
- Knowledge of P4P impact on hospitals.
