Manager II, Talent Acquisition (Early Career)

Under general direction, this position designs, implements, and directs talent acquisition initiatives, managing primarily a team of exempt individual contributors at all levels. The role improves efficiency and effectiveness of the recruitment process and serves as a brand ambassador for J.B. Hunt.

Responsibilities

• Creates, implements, and facilitates development programs for talent acquisition staff
• Anticipates and plans for recruitment needs in partnership with business management
• Consults with hiring managers regarding advanced recruiting strategies and proposes business solutions to meet client needs
• Develops proactive recruiting strategies by providing insight to leadership on market trends, competitor practices, and talent supply and demand
• Develops, maintains, and reinforces recruitment best practices and strategies that support organizational goals, including a targeted and robust Diversity recruiting approach
• Ensures hiring and recruiting procedures comply with state and federal law and company policy
• Partners with HR Business Partners and/or hiring managers to identify staffing needs and workforce planning strategy
• Develops and supports diversity recruiting efforts within the organization
• Advises hiring managers on pay/salary and recommends recruiting strategies and tactics that align with J.B. Hunt’s goals
• Hires, develops, and facilitates high performance and engagement of primarily exempt staff
• Works directly with department managers to ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and practices on recruiting matters
• Manages recruitment and employment programs; implements improvements to staffing processes
• Administers individual and team performance metrics; manages staff performance and development
• Assesses capabilities and workload of the Talent Acquisition team to optimize resource utilization
• Partners with internal departments, business units, and senior management to ensure effective implementation of recruiting policies
• Collaborates with HR Centers of Expertise and HR Operations to deliver Talent Acquisition services effectively and efficiently
• Researches, recommends, and determines advertisement scope and budget allocation for various recruitment sources
• Serves as an extension of department lead for approvals on items requiring escalation
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Business Administration/Management, Communications, Psychology, or related field and 1 year of related experience; or 3+ years combination of relevant experience, education, and training
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Management or related field (preferred)
• 1+ years of management experience (preferred)
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing
• Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality
• Ability to make time-sensitive decisions
• Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and multitask
• Attention to detail
• Experience recruiting for all levels
• Ability to seek innovative ways to attract talent

Pay

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the Company’s bonus and incentive plans.
