Duties and Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Sr. Director of Strategic Communications and Communications Department on a variety of different tasks, including but not limited to: creating visual and written materials that align with the Foundation’s brand and editorial style guide.
- Monitor and analyze social media performance across Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram to evaluate the effectiveness of posts and boost user engagement.
- Develop and implement social media strategies to promote the Foundation’s programs and events.
- Schedule posts on the Foundation’s social media platforms.
- Write and design e-newsletters that align with the Foundation’s language and objectives.
- Utilize different marketing platforms such as Sprout Social, Meltwater, Constant Contact and Salesforce.
- Think critically and creatively to amplify and share the stories of the World Food Prize Foundation.
- Continuously research and adopt the latest trends and best practices in social media to enhance the Foundation’s online presence.
- Work closely with the communications team to ensure all materials meet platform-specific requirements across different social media channels.
- Communicate promptly and professionally with the public on inquiries and matters across social media platforms, ensuring all questions and concerns are addressed.
- Maintain the press and media database for newsletters and other emails.
- Keep track of all projects deadlines, progress and collaborators on an organizational database.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree required, preferably in the field of communications, public relations, journalism, graphic journalism, graphic design or marketing; 3-5 years experience strongly preferred. Generally 6 – 8 years experience may substitute for educational requirements.
- Graphic design experience required.
- Video editing experience is desired.
- Prior experience working in a non-profit or foundation environment desired.
- Prior experience working in the food and agriculture sector is desired.
- Experience working with a wide array of stakeholders including funding donors; local, national & international government officials; agency leaders; scientific & industry related experts and dignitaries.
- Experience in a guest/customer services function at a cultural attraction or in a corporate environment.
- Excellent organizational, communication, negotiation and multitasking skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure without losing a customer-service oriented attitude.
