About the Role

The Manager, Human Resources Business Partner – Central is a critical position linking people and talent strategies with business success. This management role within the Central market oversees all human resources needs for retail operations across North America and ensures alignment between global and regional initiatives. The role focuses on developing and delivering human capital strategy, consulting with business leaders to drive people aspects of performance, workforce planning, and leveraging people analytics. The HRBP serves as a coach and advisor to senior leaders, providing strategic HR guidance while executing day-to-day strategies with a focus on clients, people, and brand desirability.

Responsibilities

  • Provide HR oversight to develop and implement initiatives supporting business success and the global HR mission.
  • Resolve complex employee relations and benefits situations fairly, utilizing specialist resources and legal counsel as needed.
  • Manage organizational risk in policy and practice implementation.
  • Balance external recruitment with short- and long-term talent planning, onboarding, and diversifying talent.
  • Identify strategic positions and ensure talent action plans are in place, including internal succession planning and external recruiting.
  • Maximize internal talent through career path development, ongoing dialogue, and tools like talent action plans.
  • Act as a communication conduit between leaders to identify and develop initiatives meeting business needs (e.g., staffing, employee relations, compensation, training, organization redesign).
  • Ensure alignment of HR projects between Global and Regional teams, managing development and communication in line with business strategy.
  • Assess and improve operational efficiencies in HR processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with North America and Global HR teams to drive overall HR team development.
  • Deliver high-quality HR service and support at all levels.
  • Demonstrate deep functional HR knowledge in areas like employee relations, compensation, benefits, training, and workforce planning to influence solutions.
  • Identify compensation and benefits trends, review data with Global Compensation and Benefits, and conduct local industry analysis.
  • Challenge innovation in the talent pipeline.

Requirements

  • BA/BS or relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of HR experience, including HR Generalist experience.
  • Knowledge of Retail or luxury goods preferred.
  • Strong leadership presence and experience managing diverse groups.
  • Consultative, coaching, communication, and influence skills.
  • Proven expertise in HR service delivery.
  • Business acumen, analytical and creative thinking ability.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, with demonstrated project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree or additional related work experience.
  • Industry-specific experience (Retail, Luxury, or multi-brand).
  • Experience with HR metrics and creative sourcing/talent pipeline strategies.
