Position Overview
The Human Resources Manager at Pekin Insurance supports company-wide initiatives, facilitates employee relations, and manages various HR functions.
Essential Job Functions
- Oversees administration of employee benefit programs, including health, welfare, retirement, leave programs, open enrollment, vendor coordination, compliance, and employee benefit communications
- Maintains awareness of ethics laws, standards, legislation, and trends impacting organizational HR practice
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations
- Communicates and demonstrates support for HR decisions
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business/HR related field or equivalent experience required
- Typically requires 6+ years of related experience; 4+ years prior supervisor or manager experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- In-depth skill in: completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
- In-depth ability to: analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines, process and handle confidential information with discretion, communicate effectively in both oral and written forms, maintain effective interpersonal relationships, exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions, plan, implement, and evaluate programs, plan, assign, and/or supervise the work of others
Qualifications
- Human Resources certification is preferred, such as Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Society for Human Resource Management – Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), and/or Society for Human Resource Management – Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP)
Salary Range
$102K - $121K per year
