Manager, High Net Worth Relationship Managers
About the role
The Wealth Management North Client Manager plays a critical role leading our front-line Relationship Managers (RM) who serve some of our largest, most complex, and loyal clients with $5-25M in Vanguard assets. RMs are responsible for delivering a quality client experience, increasing client loyalty and retention, and driving growth.
Job Summary
We are seeking highly motivated sales and/or client service leaders, coaches, and strategic problem solvers to join the Wealth Management team in Malvern, Pennsylvania. Client Managers directly influence the Wealth Management mission. As a member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in making our mission a reality by coaching your crew to achieve Trusted Partner status – delivering excellent service with Reliability, Credibility, and Connection, all supported by Vanguard’s Client First Orientation.
Core Responsibilities
- Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew.
- Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew.
- Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Deepens loyalty with existing Ultra High Net Worth clients by anticipating needs and demonstrating expertise to align solutions.
- Supports strategy planning for a book of business.
- Models growth opportunities, contributes to business planning activities, and supports client account retention.
- Provides guidance and support to Relationship Managers.
- Aids in the recovery and strengthening of at-risk relationships by coaching Relationship Managers to demonstrate empathy and deeply understand client needs.
- Develops, implements, and monitors goals and action plans.
- Reviews team performance and identifies trends, suggests improvements, and provides analysis/feedback to Relationship Managers.
- Solves complex client issues related to products or processes by taking ownership and delivering consistently with excellence.
- Influences changes among the team to improve end-to-end processes and meet client needs.
- Participates in solution development with internal colleagues and cross-functional teams.
- Supports Relationship Managers in identifying and implementing solutions.
- Uses technical knowledge of Vanguard funds, products, and services to proactively identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years related work experience.
- Three years of experience in Financial Services.
- Relationship Management and Sales experience preferred.
- Previous sales leadership experience preferred.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Graduate degree preferred.
- This job requires FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, 65, 66 or ability to acquire within department guidelines.
- This role requires one to work a hybrid schedule coming onsite to Malvern, PA every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
