Responsibilities

  • Partner with clients to solve complex technology risk and cybersecurity challenges, helping healthcare organizations enable the technologies that provide cutting-edge patient care and services while keeping robust protections around sensitive data, strengthen resilience, and securely enable digital transformation.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with client stakeholders while delivering impactful, forward-looking solutions.
  • Develop deep expertise in healthcare environments and cyber risk domains while serving as ambassadors of Protiviti in the market.
  • Work with clients to assess risk, provide advisory services, and deliver solutions across a variety of technology and cybersecurity-focused areas, including cybersecurity and cyber risk management.
  • Major Technology Projects and Enterprise Applications: Identity & Access Management (IAM), Cloud Management of Architecture & Security (AWS, Azure, GCP), Data Protection & Privacy (HIPAA, PHI security), Security Operations & Threat Detection, Third-Party & Vendor Risk Management, Business Resilience, Disaster Recovery & Incident Response, Emerging Technology Risk (AI, automation, and digital platforms).

  • Contribute to business development efforts, supporting proposals and go-to-market strategies for cybersecurity services.
  • Seek opportunities to mentor and develop junior team members and contribute to training initiatives.
  • Be passionate about project management, team leadership, and delivering high-quality client outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • A solid foundation of healthcare industry knowledge and a deep understanding of key internal controls related to IT, cybersecurity, and other healthcare business functions like revenue cycle, compliance, privacy, operational, clinical, and/or financial processes.
  • A strong understanding of technology risk management, cybersecurity principles, and control frameworks within healthcare environments.
  • Experience assessing technology risks and enhancing controls across security, identity, infrastructure, applications, and data environments.
  • Specific focus on areas of technology included: cybersecurity, cloud, data governance, analytics, electronic medical records (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.), enterprise applications (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics etc.), disaster recovery, systems development methodologies etc.
  • Understanding commonly used information technology frameworks / regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, HITRUST CSF, ISO 27001, COBIT, ITIL, etc.
  • Experience with emerging technologies such as AI and automation, with a focus on governance, security, and risk implications.
  • Ability to translate technology risks and technical topics into clear, actionable insights for executive stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate data, identify trends, and provide risk-based recommendations.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including executive-level presentations and documentation.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments, managing multiple priorities, and adapting to change.
  • Experience leading teams, managing project delivery, and contributing to client account growth.
  • Ability to build relationships, develop thought leadership, and contribute to internal and external initiatives.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications with specific emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Secondary emphasis on Visio and Access.
  • Proficiency in PowerBI, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, Python, and/or RPA Solutions.
  • Professional certification such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, or similar preferred.

Benefits

The salary range for this job is $129,000.00 - $205,000.00. The total cash range is estimated from the sum of the base salary range plus the bonus target opportunity, which is 12%. Protiviti offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverages, FSA and HSA healthcare accounts, life and accident insurance, adoption and fertility assistance, paid parental leave up to 10 weeks, and short/long term disability.
