About the role

KPMG is seeking a Manager, Healthcare AI Revenue Cycle Management to join our Provider Modernization Practice. In this role, you will independently and collaboratively assess provider organization patient access and revenue cycle capabilities, leveraging AI to enhance efficiency and integrate advanced tools across clinical and operational functions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments of provider organization patient access and revenue cycle capabilities, including clinical departments, contact centers, central billing offices, and related front-end/back-end functions through site observations, stakeholder interviews, document reviews, data-driven insights, and process mapping.
• Leverage AI capabilities to enable revenue cycle and access functions, including Electronic Health Record (EHR) platforms, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), payment management, process automation, mobile experience, and analytic tools.
• Design or redesign business processes integrating AI tools for optimized efficiency, incorporating tools and techniques such as RPA/IA while adapting to KPMG methodologies for typical and complex situations.
• Facilitate program and project management office activities, including preparation and review of engagement work papers, written briefings, status reports, action items, and issue/risk logs for healthcare clients.
• Conduct research, perform data collection, analysis, and synthesis, and develop narratives to support project deliverables and presentation content for clients and the KPMG project team.
• Manage an internal team of engagement resources to achieve desired outcomes, provide mentoring to peers and staff, and serve as a Performance Management Leader for Associates, including conducting annual performance reviews.

Requirements

• Minimum five years of consulting experience focused on operations performance improvement, systems integration, or equivalent industry experience (front, middle, and back office experience preferred).
• Minimum two years of direct supervisory experience, with preference for two to three years of experience managing teams.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university; preferred concentrations include Health Care Administration, Business, Management Information Systems, Economics, Industrial Engineering, and Accounting.
• Progressive experience using AI tools in implementing operational improvement plans across all phases of healthcare revenue cycle management and patient access, including financial clearance, scheduling, referral management, billing, follow-up/collections, and vendor management.
• Experience building AI tools to handle, analyze, and evaluate large data sets with advanced analytics and visualization tools; working with project management teams, drafting status reports, tracing issues, monitoring resources, and workflow analysis/design.
• Deep understanding of the intersection of AI capabilities around scheduling/registration functions, financial clearance, clinical documentation, care delivery and coordination, patient flow/throughput, referral management, clinical/operational/financial analytics, reporting, and key initiatives such as patient experience transformations.
• Proficiency in foundational consulting skills such as analytical, written, and verbal communication; appropriate client presence, facilitation, and presentation abilities.
• Ability to travel as necessary.
