Manager, Health Plan Technical Delivery (Remote)

About the role

The Manager, Health Plan Technical Delivery role is a high-impact leadership position within Availity, a pioneer in healthcare technology. This role involves leading a team responsible for delivering healthcare data integrations across trading partners, vendors, and direct submitters. Key responsibilities include overseeing the implementation lifecycle from requirements and configuration through testing, go-live, and post-production support.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Implementation Analysts, including coaching, performance management, and regular 1:1s
• Partner in a co-manager model to balance team workload, support delivery, and ensure team success
• Oversee implementation delivery from intake through production and warranty support, ensuring successful outcomes
• Act as the primary escalation point for complex client and production issues, driving resolution across teams
• Support release cycles, including occasional evening or weekend involvement when needed
• Drive improvements across processes, workflows, and tools to increase team efficiency and performance
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and other stakeholders to address system gaps and improve delivery outcomes

Requirements

• Strong experience working with healthcare data standards, including X12 and HIPAA transactions
• Experience with clearinghouse models, trading partners, and data flow across systems
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives, priorities, and escalations
• 3+ years demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing technical teams
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language
• Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-changing environments
• Comfortable handling high-pressure situations and customer escalations with confidence and composure

Qualifications

• Ability to lead teams responsible for implementation lifecycle delivery (requirements through production)
• Experience driving process improvements, workflow efficiency, and operational enhancements
• Background working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and customer-facing teams
