USCIB is also the national guaranteeing and issuing association for ATA Carnets, a unified international customs document that allows for the temporary import and export of various types of goods into a foreign country without paying duties or taxes.

About the role

This is a rare opportunity to serve as the voice of US business within the multilateral system, shaping how leading international bodies, including the OECD, WHO, UN, ILO, and ICC, address issues critical to American companies. USCIB seeks a strategic, entrepreneurial, and collaborative healthcare policy leader who can drive global health advocacy, engage closely with members, navigate complex international policy environments, and represent business perspectives directly to senior policymakers and global stakeholders in a highly visible, high-impact role.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct the USCIB health workstream—setting priorities, agenda, and strategy, and serving as a recognized authority on health policy.
• Anticipate and assess emerging international policies, norms, and expectations across the health portfolio and related IPP/Chemicals and IP topics.
• Build and sustain trusted relationships with senior representatives of member companies, serving as their primary point of contact for health matters.
• Monitor developments at the OECD, UN institutions (including the WHO), and other international bodies—translating them into clear implications for the policy team and committee members, and identifying risks and opportunities for U.S. companies operating globally.
• Synthesize member and committee input on draft norms, regulations, and standards—alongside IOE, BIAC, and ICC policy papers—and design and execute advocacy strategies that advance committee consensus positions.
• Author and oversee the committee’s policy briefs, position papers, and advocacy letters, ensuring they reflect member consensus and advance USCIB’s strategic objectives.
• Represent USCIB and its members in the health committees of the ICC and BIAC, influencing international initiatives and shaping outcomes on behalf of U.S. business.
• Direct the planning and execution of Health Policy Committee meetings, calls, and webinars—shaping agendas, securing expert speakers, and delivering substantive content.
• Support engagement with UN innovation and development processes (including the STI Forum), identifying implications for global IP frameworks such as technology transfer and access debates; partner with General Counsel on IP topics.
• Drive member engagement and outreach and collaborate with Communications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in international relations, public policy, political science, economics, business, law, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience in public policy or international affairs with strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, build relationships with business and government leaders, and adapt to a dynamic global policy environment.
• Demonstrated success working with international organizations and in multi-stakeholder settings. Private sector (corporate) experience a plus.
• Excellent written communication and strong public speaking skills, with a demonstrated ability to advocate for and persuasively articulate business positions in public forums and multi-stakeholder engagements.
• A solid understanding of—and established relationships with—key stakeholders in health policy and standards across the private and public sectors.

Pay

The anticipated salary range for this position is $85,000–$100,000.

Schedule

USCIB currently requires in-office work Tuesday – Thursday, with WFH option on Mondays and Fridays.
