The University of California, Irvine (UCI) seeks an experienced administrative professional to manage, plan, and administer the operations of Student Housing. This role involves performing short- and long-term planning, supervising staff, and providing oversight for various areas including undergraduate application and contract assignment, dissemination of Housing information, customer service, student housing accounts counseling, executive administrative support, general administrative analysis, and HAS facilities maintenance.

About the role

This position requires interpersonal skills, strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to recruit, hire, train, manage, and evaluate staff. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Director of Housing Administrative Services (HAS) and serve as an active member of the HAS management team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise staff within Student Housing
  • Perform short- and long-term planning for the organization
  • Disseminate Housing information and provide customer service
  • Provide executive administrative support and general administrative analysis
  • Oversee HAS facilities maintenance
  • Manage undergraduate application and contract assignment area
  • Provide guidance and counseling to students

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience/training
  • 5-8 years of experience in higher education administration
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Ability to manage and train staff
  • Knowledge of UCI Housing policies and procedures preferred

  • Interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, advising and counseling skills
  • Conceptualizing, organizing, and directing projects
  • Using discretion and maintaining confidentiality
  • Short-term and long-term planning, analysis, problem-solving, and customer service skills
  • Recruiting, hiring, training, managing, and evaluating staff
  • Interacting with all levels of the University community
  • Diagnosing and resolving problems using analytical abilities
  • Able to assess priorities and determine short term and long term objectives
  • Skill to write and organize reports for management and present data through clear and understandable formats

  • Good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions

Total Rewards

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $81,600- $92,208 (Annual).
