Manager, Government Affairs and Public Policy, Platforms and Devices

About the role

As a member of Google’s Government Affairs and Public Policy team, you'll be part of a global government affairs team, working across regions, product areas, and functions. You’ll combine creativity and intellectual excellence with the organizational skills to manage various campaigns, projects and initiatives. In this role, you’ll advocate for Google to bring external perspectives back into the company to inform our perception and direction.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to proactively shape policy landscape.
• Develop and execute campaigns that accomplish Google’s goals.
• Organize, manage, and communicate critical plans and initiatives to internal stakeholders.
• Demonstrate the discipline to manage competing projects with tight deadlines.
• Manage external consultants and third-party advisors for health and home-related initiatives to support team objectives.
• Advise product, engineering, legal and external communications teams through a public policy lens.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 7 years of experience working on technology policy issues within government, think tanks, public interest groups, or industry associations.

Preferred qualifications

• Advanced degree in policy, communications, law or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity within large organizations and get things done.
• Excellent personal, investigative, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Excellent network of professional contacts and relationships in government, think tanks, industry associations, and media.

Pay

US: $141000 - $206000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
