About the role
The Manager/Senior Manager of Fund Research provides strategic leadership for the firm’s investment due diligence function, overseeing the evaluation, selection, monitoring, and governance of investment managers, strategies, and products utilized across the organization’s advisory, consulting, and portfolio platforms. This role establishes due diligence frameworks and research standards, supports disciplined investment committee decision-making, and strengthens investment risk oversight. The position also serves as a key resource to leadership teams, advisors, clients, and internal partners by ensuring investment recommendations are supported by rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis and consistent governance practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead the firm’s investment due diligence strategy, policies, methodologies, and governance framework.
- Oversee the evaluation, selection, approval, monitoring, and termination of external investment managers, mutual funds, ETFs, separate accounts, and other investment solutions.
- Chair or support investment committee processes and provide recommendations supported by quantitative and qualitative research.
- Establish research standards, due diligence documentation requirements, and ongoing monitoring procedures.
- Partner with Portfolio Management, Investment Consulting, Distribution, Compliance, Risk, and Operations teams to align investment decisions with business objectives.
- Monitor market developments, manager personnel changes, performance trends, operational risks, and organizational developments that may affect investment recommendations.
- Lead vendor, platform, and database relationships that support investment research and analytics.
- Develop and mentor investment professionals while strengthening the capabilities and scalability of the due diligence function.
- Communicate investment research, manager insights, and recommendations to senior leadership, advisors, clients, and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- CFA designation strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of investment research, manager due diligence, portfolio management, consulting, or related asset management experience.
- Experience presenting investment recommendations to senior leadership, investment committees, or fiduciary decision-makers.

- Ability to conduct rigorous quantitative and qualitative investment analysis and evaluate investment managers, strategies, products, performance, and risk across a broad range of asset classes.
- Ability to develop clear, well-supported investment recommendations and effectively influence senior leaders, investment committees, and key stakeholders in complex decision-making environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in investment products, capital markets, portfolio construction, manager research, and due diligence methodologies, with the ability to identify emerging opportunities and risks.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship management skills, with the ability to translate complex investment concepts into actionable insights for diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop investment professionals while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, analytical excellence, and continuous improvement.
