About the role

The Manager of Fund Accounting role at SS&C Technologies is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing multiple hedge fund client relationships and ensuring the accurate delivery of complex fund accounting services. In this role, you will lead and develop accounting teams, manage client expectations, and oversee critical deliverables including NAVs, financial statements, investor allocations, and waterfall calculations. You’ll also play a key role in reviewing fund documents, supporting audits, and contributing to new business initiatives, while driving operational excellence, strengthening client relationships, and guiding staff through technical and performance development in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of financial services professionals, including performance reviews, coaching, and training.
  • Oversee daily fund accounting/operational workflows, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for key clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and building strong relationships.
  • Implement and monitor departmental goals and key performance indicators (KPIs), providing regular reports to senior management.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and client service.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Participate in strategic planning and contribute to the development of new services or products.
  • Handle escalated client issues and complex operational challenges effectively.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of SS&C products, services, and industry trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the financial services industry, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Actual base salary will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, prior experience, education, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
  • New York: The expected base salary for the position is between $85,000 USD to $155,000 USD. In addition, employees in this role may be eligible for consideration on an annual basis for a discretionary bonus and/or equity awards, such as restricted stock units or stock options, based upon individual and business performance at the company’s discretion.
