Accountabilities
- Preparing and reviewing monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheet reports, and supporting schedules for multiple entities.
- Maintaining quality control over accounting records and reviewing bookkeeping activities performed by external accounting partners.
- Managing account structures, chart of accounts maintenance, and financial reporting processes.
- Supporting year-end close activities, including audit preparation and tax reporting requirements.
- Reviewing overhead allocations, bonus calculations, and related financial workbooks.
- Analyzing financial data and responding to reporting requests from leadership and business stakeholders.
- Assisting with the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Collaborating with multiple departments to ensure accurate financial setup, timely reporting, and effective communication.
- Preparing customized financial analyses and reports for executives and operational leaders.
- Protecting company assets and confidential financial information through strong control processes.
- Maintaining organized financial records, documentation, and transaction files.
- Supporting ongoing professional development and organizational initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.
- 3-5 years of public accounting experience preferred.
- 4-6 years of general ledger accounting experience, with property management or real estate experience preferred.
- 2-3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and their application in complex business environments.
- Advanced knowledge of accounting concepts, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger analysis, accrual accounting, cash basis accounting, operating expenses, and capital expenditures.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with experience collaborating across departments.
- Advanced Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, reference formulas, and financial analysis functions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Adobe, and accounting information systems.
- Experience with Yardi Voyager or similar accounting platforms preferred.
- Ability to prepare, analyze, and communicate financial reports effectively.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong ability to meet deadlines and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to support additional projects and responsibilities as business needs evolve.
