About the role
This role is essentially the operational and technical engine of the firm. You’ll act as the “Strategic Architect”, owning service delivery quality, client relationships, team leadership, and driving efficiency in Accounting Advisory, Tax Compliance, and Financial Operations.
Responsibilities
- Own the quality, timeliness, and consistency of the firm’s entire service portfolio (the primary “Source of Technical Truth”).
- Review and approve all client-facing deliverables from associates and analysts.
- Build repeatable workflows and systems to create scalable operations.
- Serve as the senior point of contact for clients, manage scope, timelines, deliverables, and expectations.
- Identify operational needs and take initiative without waiting for direction.
- Lead, develop, and hold a technical team of associates accountable to high standards.
- Align regularly with the Managing Principal on priorities and firm-level decisions.
- Accelerate the “Review-to-Client” cycle using your expertise.
Requirements
Professional Qualification (Mandatory): ACA, ACCA, or equivalent (ICAN/ACCA strongly preferred).
Experience: 5–10 years post-qualification experience in accounting, audit, or advisory. Proven track record of independently owning client relationships (not just supporting).
Key Skills & Attributes
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws (VAT, WHT, PAYE, etc.).
- Experience with accounting software — Zoho Books/Projects is an advantage.
- Operational thinking: Ability to turn work into efficient, repeatable systems and workflows.
- Leadership grit: Experience developing people and maintaining high standards.
- Comfort with digital tools, AI, and project management technology.
- High initiative, resilience, and client-facing confidence.
