Purpose and Scope
The Manager, Finance & Accounting is responsible for providing ongoing reporting and analysis to support organizational decision making. The role includes responsibility for coordination, preparation, and presentation of the annual budget for the global organization, accurate and timely project items in relation to supply chain and merchandise, along with ensuring that reconciliations, ledger accounts, and other financial transactions are complete. Ensures that inventory and merchandise accounts are accurately recorded and reported.
Essential Job Functions
- Lead preparation and presentation of annual budget for the global organization, including forecasting, planning and coordination across all departments, consolidation and analysis of budget requests, and presentation to Senior Leadership Team.
- Prepare budget proposals and accompanying reports and analysis for Finance Committee and International Cabinet review and approval.
- Drive projects and assist on initiatives which improve supply chain processes by learning processes, reducing cost, accelerating lead-times, and/or improving customer experience.
- Ensure accurate and complete costing and tracking of global inventory.
- Active participation in the annual financial audit process utilizing experience in GAAP financial statements and disclosures.
- Conduct financial and budget analysis as requested throughout the fiscal year.
- Manage, direct, mentor, and train Finance staff.
- Ensure proper accounting systems and processes are in place and maintained in accordance with GAAP and internal controls.
- Afford financial and accounting support to other departments as needed.
- Assist the Corporate Controller, Finance, Leaders, and other Finance staff with various other projects as assigned.
- Oversee financial functions as assigned.
- Train new employees in financial systems and processes.
- Manage, review, and apply policies and procedures to ensure proper controls are in place.
- Prepare and assist with writing and maintaining financial procedures necessary for proper internal controls.
- Support the monthly financial close process.
- Maintain Standard Operating Procedures for position.
- Discreetly and confidentially manage all accounting data.
- Oversee monthly budget meetings with other departments.
- Aid in the preparation of tax returns and forms.
- Aid in the preparation of monthly reports and management reporting.
- Offer analysis to determine and prioritize workflow improvements.
- Add overall value to the organization and self by taking on ever-increasing responsibility, skill sets, and spiritual growth.
- Perform other duties as required.
- As requested, assist in performing financial and other duties at the annual Gideons International Convention.
- Participate in daily morning staff devotions; on a rotating basis serve by praying and reading Scripture in support of devotion leader.

- Reports To: Director, Finance
- People Management Responsibility: Sr. Coordinator, Supply Chain Finance; Financial Associate; Finance Operations Coordinator; Accounting Specialist
- Works Closely With: Sr. Manager, Finance and Accounting; Finance Division; Corporate Controller
Essential Knowledge, Skills, And Training & Development
- Non-physical
- Ability to use PC and widely used software applications, especially Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to learn new software applications as necessary, especially NetSuite Accounting Software.
- Ability to provide analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all TGI Departments and Membership.
Physical Reason

Minimum Qualifications
- 4-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3-5 years finance and accounting management experience.
- CPA or CMA preferred.
- Familiarity with non-profit accounting desired.
- NetSuite by Oracle Accounting software experience preferred.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical and financial data.
- Proven experience with database management.
- Mature, responsible, driven, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
