About the role
Join Community Community Health Network, a healthcare organization deeply rooted in its community. The role involves managing the Property Management Maintenance Department at Community Health Westfield Hospital, ensuring efficient repair, preventive maintenance, and project work.
Responsibilities
- Oversee labor and materials to complete repair, preventive maintenance, and project work expeditiously and cost-effectively.
- Implement an emergency plan for critical equipment or system failures.
- Manage the shop, house, physical plant, and construction/renovation activities.
- Collaborate with external agencies and vendors to ensure compliance with Environment of Care plans.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, utilizing project management skills to coordinate contractor and vendor activities.
- Ensure high-quality and cost-effective materials are used for job completion.
- Plan material and labor flow to minimize lost time and material waste.
- Create and manage the department budget, overseeing financial expectations.
- Establish action plans with the Facilities Director to achieve departmental objectives.
- Communicate regularly with subordinates, integrating their ideas into action plans.
- Conduct walk-through inspections and discuss maintenance with unit staff to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Maintain open communication with subordinates and provide necessary follow-up on maintenance problems and employee concerns.
- Provide effective customer service to ambulatory medical office/surgery facilities.
- Gather information, coordinate work schedules, and update departments on the status of requested work.
- Supervise, guide, and solicit input from Property Management Maintenance personnel on means and methods to implement work.
- Provide information for materials purchased, solicit advice on vendors, and track work in progress with the Director.
Qualifications
- Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities Management, Architecture, Engineering, Technology, Construction Management, Health Sciences, or Business.
- Four (4) years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Five (5) years of verifiable hospital maintenance supervisory experience, including experience or knowledge of all aspects of hospital maintenance operations.
