As a Manager, Experience Planning, you will act as the day-to-day liaison between the client, vendor partners, and the media community to ensure media plans are developed and implemented according to brand objectives and guidelines. You will collaborate with disciplines such as Integrated Planners and Data Science, as well as partner creative agencies, to ensure integrated and goal-driven campaign execution.
Responsibilities
- Manage the flow of client media-related issues, create solutions, and resolve issues.
- Establish timetables for the development of plans and integrate strategic planning philosophy into communication plan development.
- Help develop planning objectives and strategies aligned with the client’s marketing direction.
- Promote a consumer-centric view in all strategic thinking, encouraging creative and innovative approaches to reach target consumers.
- Supervise the implementation of integrated offerings and tools.
- Identify opportunities for cross-platform deals when appropriate.
- Provide a point-of-view on various media in the marketplace.
- Create media plan recommendations and alternatives, selecting media vehicles and determining scheduling.
- Analyze competitive activity in the marketplace.
- Oversee the execution of and present media plans to clients.
- Gauge media performance to determine if original objectives and strategies are met.
- Maintain budget control and ensure execution of media plans by authorizing approved media schedules and monitoring buys/schedules.
- Coordinate efforts with the Investment team(s) and creative agencies.
- Study demographic data and consumer profiles to identify desired target audiences.
- Handle client requests, such as plan or budget changes, and provide marketplace information.
- Meet with media sales reps and industry representatives regularly to pursue ideas aligned with the client’s business.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in cross-channel branding strategy or media/communications; retail account experience a plus.
- Experience managing lower-funnel campaigns.
- Proven team management, interpersonal communication, and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of advertising, marketing, and media principles, including underlying disciplines (e.g., psychology, economics, journalism).
- Solid understanding of digital media types.
- Knowledge of media dynamics—how each element performs alone, together, and evolves over time.
- Understanding of the Investment side of the business and Strategic Business Units’ competencies.
- Interest in the client’s industry and its operating environment.
- Knowledge of syndicated research, ad serving, and media billing tools (a plus).
- Ability to interpret media data sources, including what is measured, methods, and reported information.
- Appreciation of marketing and advertising principles, media concepts, creative and budget requirements.
- Strong presentation skills.
Pay
$50,000.00–$95,000.00 (New York).
Schedule
Omnicom policy requires employees to work in the office a minimum of three days per week, with potential for additional in-office days as directed by the agency or manager. Many Omnicom agencies and corporate groups already require five days of in-office attendance.
