Manager, Event Marketing and Experience
About the Role
We are seeking a top-notch experienced professional to join our awesome and nimble marketing team. We are looking for someone who loves envisioning and executing amazing experiences for our clients, with a primary focus on leading the strategy and execution for 3rd party partner and industry conferences. This role will be responsible for our major tradeshow presence and all ancillary events paired with our tradeshow sponsorships, ensuring Slalom's brand is brought to life through high-impact activations. The person should be humble and curious, resourceful, creative, and collaborative with a demonstrated commitment to excellence, obsessed with creating great experiences, attention to detail, and big picture thinking. Candidate must excel at relationship building, be an effective communicator, and tech savvy. Remote with proximity to a Slalom office.
What You'll Do
- Understand our clients and what works to engage them effectively
- Strategize with our sales and marketing teams to lead the strategy and execution for 3rd party partner and industry conferences, developing engagement ideas that support our business goals
- Execute on the calendar of events including managing tradeshow logistics, exhibitor resource centers, and 3rd party vendors - bringing creativity and polish to create memorable experiences that bring Slalom to life for our clients
- Think through and execute event follow on activities
- Work with sales to ensure relevant engagement throughout the process – from attendee identification, to invitations, to follow up
- Determine and manage our quarterly and annual event and experience calendar
- Work in tools such as Pardot, Salesforce, Teams, SharePoint
- Manage event budget – per event and overall
- Track impact and results
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years of event experience in a fast-paced marketing environment, with a proven track record of managing large-scale tradeshows and industry conferences, while working closely with sales teams and clients
- Advanced skills and experience in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint are required. Pardot a plus
- Proficiency in navigating Exhibitor Manuals/Resources Centers and managing complex vendor contracts (A/V, drayage, booth fabrication, etc.)
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills – including excellent grammatical, editing and proofreading skills
- Scrupulous attention to detail, able to develop and maintain highly organized work environment
- Proven ability to set priorities and work independently with little supervision – you are a driver
- Demonstrated capabilities in making solid business decisions, problem-solving, and multi-tasking
- Must be resourceful and able to deal with ambiguity
- Must be available to work some nights and, very rarely, time on the weekend
Pay
Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, etc.: $97,000-$110,000
Seattle, Washington D.C., Boston: $106,000-$120,000
San Francisco: $115,000-$130,000
In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors.
