Manager, Engineering (Production Orchestration)

About the role

Cockroach Labs is seeking a talented individual to join our dynamic team. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and support of CockroachDB, a distributed SQL database.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality software components for CockroachDB
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, and sales
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of CockroachDB through feedback and testing
• Participate in code reviews and mentoring junior engineers

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience with distributed systems and SQL databases
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Knowledge of SQL and distributed systems concepts
• Experience with programming languages such as Go, C++, or Python
• Experience with version control systems like Git
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
