Manager Engineering
About the role
Constellation is the largest private-sector power producer in the world and a leading producer of clean and reliable energy. This role involves providing advanced technical/engineering problem-solving support for nuclear plant operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage, and implement engineering analysis, activities, and programs.
- Provide technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement and as a subject matter expert when consulted to identify and resolve equipment and system problems.
- Directly fulfill engineering and technical leadership accountability regarding short-term and long-term programs that impact site operations.
- Apply general engineering principles to perform engineering and technical tasks as assigned by supervision.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work, ensuring proper configuration management and adherence to standard design criteria, practices, procedures, and codes.
- Conduct independent research, reviews, studies, and analyses in support of technical projects and programs.
- Recommend equipment, new concepts, and techniques to improve performance, simplify construction, reduce costs, correct design or material flaws, or comply with changes in codes or regulations.
- Perform other job assignments and/or duties as directed by management, including emergency response duties, departmental coverage, and support of outage activities.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or nuclear) OR related science OR License Professional Engineer OR Active/Inactive SRO License with 5 years of engineering or related experience, which shall include 1 year of nuclear power plant experience.
Maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties.
Qualifications
- Advanced technical degree or related coursework preferred.
- Supervisory or managerial experience preferred.
- Professional Engineer Registration preferred.
Skills
Excellent knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application.
Detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations.
