Responsibilities

  • Manage Employee Relations
  • Manage employee disciplinary process
  • Manage employee complaint and grievance processes
  • Conduct investigations as required
  • Handle associated appeals
  • Conduct mediations and/or facilitated conversations
  • Partner with Benefits on complex ADA cases
  • Assist in legal matters related to employee relations
  • Work closely with Legal Department on review of various actions
  • Work closely with HR leadership on performance management
  • Lead performance management efforts
  • Provide HR communications regarding timeline and process
  • Provide updates and data as requested to HR leadership
  • Review, research, and assist in policy development and modification
  • Manage Unemployment Insurance matters
  • Affirmatively manage HR records
  • Manage new employee orientation content
  • Manage unemployment insurance matters
  • Develop, implement, and administer relevant HR programs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field
  • Four (4) years of experience in Human Resources, including at least one (1) year of supervisory leadership experience
  • Experience must include coaching/discipline, grievance and complaint investigations, performance management, conflict resolution, and policy development

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Experience working in Human Resources for State or Local Government in North Carolina and HR Certification strongly preferred
