Job Summary

The Manager, Electrical Design Engineering at Vertiv is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of electrical design for multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with global standards and customer expectations. This role involves managing a team of electrical engineers and designers while working cross-functionally with project managers, mechanical teams, and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the electrical design team across multiple projects.
  • Review and approve electrical designs, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with national and international electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, UL, IEEE, NFPA).
  • Coverage coordination with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, controls) to ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Manage design schedules, workloads, and resources to meet project deadlines.
  • Conduct design risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers and designers.
  • Collaborate with project managers and clients to define scope, design requirements, and expectations.
  • Ensure adherence to quality assurance protocols and internal global design standards.
  • Monitor project KPIs and report progress, issues, and resolutions to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process optimization efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering design, including 3–5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Proficiency in electrical design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SEE Electrical).
  • Strong understanding of relevant electrical codes and safety standards.
  • Prominent track record managing engineering teams and complex technical projects.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Industry experience in construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, or energy sectors is highly desirable.

Work Environment

This is an office-based role with occasional travel to project sites or client meetings. Extended hours may be required during critical project phases or deadlines.
