Manager, Design Build Construction Services - Central US
About the role
The Manager, Design Build Construction Services role is primarily responsible for establishing consultative relationships with contractors and associated owner/developer representatives actively involved in Design-Build (DB) and Construction Management-at-Risk (CMAR) project delivery to increase market awareness and sales of ASSA ABLOY brand products, solutions, and services.
Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify regional and national DB/CMAR firms to target for consulting relationships.
- Actively track project opportunities to solicit and engage with DB/CMAR firms to promote and support ASSA ABLOY brand product solutions and consulting services.
- Coincide with Contract Hardware Distribution partners to support and facilitate project budgeting, bidding, procurement, and project management activities.
- Promote, present, and secure utilization of software solutions and professional services for construction management. Coordinate on-site execution of professional services contracts.
- Provide pre-construction budgetary guidance and project specifications for product applications.
- Provide bidding and product sourcing assistance.
- Identify project Architects and Security Contractors and coordinate the production of Division 08/28 door, hardware and access control specifications and drawings.
- Aid with review on Division 08/28 submittal packages on behalf of contractor.
- Identify opportunities and propose options for pre-installed and off-site door and hardware services.
- Attend project coordination and pre-installation meetings to review project scope of services.
- Coordinate for product training and installation training for subcontractors.
- Review and comment on project RFIs/RFQs, ASIs, Change Orders and similar post bid construction directives related to door openings as requested by contractors.
- Assist with trade coordination between project door opening subcontractors and access control security contractors and integrators.
- Coincide with designated BIM construction software platforms throughout design, distribution, and construction phases.
- Routinely interact and communicate with DSS sales, professional services, and demand generations teams concerning project bid coverage, specifications, and design guides, and distribution support.
- Facilitate the resolution of ASSA ABLOY product and in-field service issues.
Requirements
- You have professional selling and demand generation skills; including proven presentation and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- You are a self-starter and active listener with strong negotiation skills.
- You have the ability to read, interpret, and review CSI MasterFormat Division 08 architectural specifications and construction documents including, door schedules, hardware sets, floor plans, elevations, submittals, and shop drawings.
- You have an understanding of fire, life safety, accessibility, and model building codes in relation to door and hardware specifications.
- You are detail-orientated with strong analytical skills and follow-up habits.
- You have the ability to meet multiple project deadlines and exercise effective time management with on-time activity reporting.
- You are goal-orientated and results-driven.
- Ability to work and perform responsibilities in the field at construction sites and end-user facilities.
- Ability to travel upon request. Travel ability of 40% - 60% required.
- Ability to lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications
- Accredited college or university Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Preference for degree in industry-related program (Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Construction Science and Management, or similar). High school diploma/GED required.
- Architectural and construction industry-related experience, including door and hardware applications and specifications and software training and support, is a plus.
- High level of proficiency with computer software applications including major Microsoft "Office Suite" programs. Above average working knowledge of Autodesk Revit Architecture® software preferred. Familiarity of Construction Management software applications a plus.

The wage range for this role is $100K - $130K and considers a broad scope of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions. Pay within each range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, to primary work job-related knowledge, skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, business requirements, geographic location and other business and organizational needs.
